The 2011 GPVWC Day was held at Oulton Park on October 22nd and saw the attendance of fifteen members of the league's community. The day represented, in the words of GPVWC Admin William Ponissi, "a celebration of the GPVWC's success - not only of those drivers who won the championships, but of every single league member who contributed to make this into one of the most enjoyable simracing communities in the world".

The participants enjoyed a day of racing at the Cheshire track and made the most of the occasion to finally put faces to names after an intense season of racing. The day saw the arrival of Christoph Lichtenstein, officially the community member who travelled the most for a GPVWC meeting, from Germany and long-standing members Mal and Luke McKee from Northern Ireland.

The racing day programme included heritage cars, Formula Ford, Club Championship and Formula 3 - all providing a good show, helped by the sun that graced the skies (even though the strong winds didn't exactly result in a warm day). The GPVWC Administration took the occasion to unveil the new GPVWC flags which were used as a prop for the official group pictures.

After a the end of the track programme, the evening continued at a local pub. GPVWC Admin Ponissi led the evening with a presentation which included the unveiling of the official results of the GPVWC Supercup and Superleague Awards and the Trophy Presentation to the 2011 Season champions - including, for the first time in the GPVWC history, to the Supercup winners.

Ponissi also unveiled the GPVWC 2011 Season review - a unique, must-have book containing all the aspects of the 2011 Superleague and Supercup championships, a preview of the forthcoming Masters Series and reports on the Endurance events that will be available on sale soon. A more detailed presentation of the book will be published on the GPVWC website soon.

resentation by the GPVWC Administration focused on the positives and negatives aspects of the 2011 season, and how the experience of the last year can help GPVWC improve to bring on an even better 2012. Areas of possible improvement were identified in the speed of website updates, the disciplinary control and the in-season testing - with solutions found for each of these areas.

The series for the 2012 season were introduced: next year will feature the return of the Superleague, Supercup and Master Series, with the addition of a new series - Formula Challenge - and the introduction of an Endurance Series as a development from the one-off endurance events held in 2011.

The administration also highlighted the new features that will be introduced in 2012 - some exciting developments that will ensure the GPVWC continues in its aim to become the most immersive, most exciting and most realistic racing experience on the net. A full presentation of the 2012 season will be published soon.

The evening ended at midnight after a surprise Pub Quiz designed by Joe Consiglio and won by Mal McKee, Chris Williamson and Liam Hatchell.

All in all, the 2011 GPVWC Day turned out to be a resounding success: it allowed to cement our community and helped create more solid bonds between community members. It was a great night out and it is surely encouraging to see the numbers that attended. The GPVWC Administration would like to thank all the members who attended and all those who helped out before, during and after the event - even if they couldn't be there.

The community is what makes the GPVWC special and to see the support everyone has shown is what motivates us to do our best to bring you a great league!
