Scott Woodwiss is looking ahead to Wednesday's GPVWC Supercup Chinese Grand Prix at the Shanghai International Circuit with aspirations of an all-round better weekend compared to his series and sim racing debut less than two weeks ago at the season opener in Melbourne.

Woodwiss, who drives for No Fear Racing alongside fellow Englishman David Fidock, had a less than average initial qualifying session to line up 19th, before trouble at Turn 3 on the opening lap saw him punted into the gravel along with several other cars. After a painfully slow trip back to the pits, Woodwiss spent the rest of the race staying out of the way of the faster cars, whilst spinning numerous times and also earning himself a drive-through penalty for speeding in the pitlane. Despite this, Scott came through to the end, albeit 16th and last of the cars to make the finish and 5 laps down on winner Rickard Hellsten of Torrent Motorsports.

"To be fair, Melbourne was far from the best start to my career in the league" Woodwiss said in regards to the whole weekend. "I wasn't particularly happy with my steering setup and while I could make at least one lap without spinning when running in practice and qualifying, I was never really able to relax knowing how tempremental the rear end of the Supercup car is, even with traction control. However, in our preparationsfor China, we've seen a massive leap in performance, and with my steering issues practically sorted we've been able to set some really competitive times in testing, plus we've found a setup that seems to suit both our cars."

With Fidock currently top of the server times and Woodwiss effectively 5th amongst the Supercup drivers that have set times, No Fear Racing can seriously consider themselves as a team ready to challenge for regular points finish and possible more as the season progresses.

"We're expecting an updated steering system for Abu Dhabi for my car which should give me better feel and more control of the car than the current setup I have. My hope is that this helps me move closer to the front of the pack. Torrent and CSG, to name two teams, have exceptional drivers, especially the former. You can see why Petter and Rickard are classed as single seater specialists. Both have raced at the highest level of Grand Prix sim racing and their experience shows in their pace and consistency. I have the utmost respect for both of them and hope that I can eventually develop my skills to level that is certainly not too far away from theirs.

"David actually has a good chance of being up near the front of the grid with the times he's been able to set here in Shanghai, so it's great to see No Fear Racing making strides towards the sharp end. I'm confident that starting here we can have a great season from now on."
