Vod:Bul Racing scored its highest finish since 2007 as the Superleague season started in Australia.
The first race of theSuperleague season is never short of controversy but when the race was cut short after 38laps the team found themselves scoring 23 points and sitting second in the teams standings.

Both drivers have been very quietly going about their business over preseason but then came qualifying where Philipp Puschke put in a time good enough for pole by 0.2 of a second with only a couple of minutes left of the session before CSG's Redshaw took pole by 0.001! So close to a perfect start for Philipp. The VB cars lined up 2nd and 15th.

Both Vod:Bul drivers choosing to only do a 2 stop race when some of the field around them picked a 3 stop. Both drivers believe they had a chance at moving up the field in the last third of the race but alas we shall never know.

The result is in stark contrast to last season when the team came away from Melbourne pointless.

Philipp Puschke "Q went alright, P2. The start was bad as expected and I slipped to 4th. I was able to pass Fidock in lap 1 and Canapino a few laps later. I knew it would be difficult to beat Redshaw as we were on equal pace and he already had a good gap to me due to my bad start. I was in pretty much a secure 2nd place all race long with a slight chance of a fight with Lewis as we were on different tactics but then the server crashed. All in all I'm really satisfied with 2nd place and the pace we did have. On to Bahrain."

Oskari Kantonen "I went for points and I got some, even though my pace and strategy indicated I was headed for a top 10 finish, so that is the target in Bahrain"
