JAPANESE GRAND PRIX

David Fidock hit a big milestone in the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, and he made sure he celebrated in the right fashion by claiming his second victory of the season.
Statistics are not always the best way to look at a driver's career: they lack context and often fail to take into account all the circumstances that surround any given race.

But look at David Fidock's run in the GPVWC Superleague, and numbers alone will bear testament to the quality of the English driver. As the Nordsjoen Racing ace reaches 50 races in the GPVWC's top tier, an impressive ratio of 100% points finishes, 35 podiums (17 consecutive ones - the whole 2014 season) and 9 victories go a long way to explain why Fidock is challenging for the title for the third time in his three full seasons at this level.

Abu Dhabi was the kind of race Fidock is a master at: dominated from lights to flag, without mistakes, without asking too much of his car. A masterpiece that brings him back into contention for the 2016 Drivers' title, with three races left in the season.

Whether Fidock will go on to become the first driver to win two championships with two different teams remains in the balance - points leader Eros Masciulli surely hoping otherwise. But as another season - possibly the most challenging in David Fidock's career in the GPVWC - speeds towards its final stages, one thing is certain.

One of the strongest drivers in the history of GPVWC has made his mark in his first 50 races, and he's ready to do the same in the next ones.
