Cosmo's GPVWC efforts in 2020 are to be run by Matthew Allington, who is best known for managing the YTF1 team in recent years.
He had the following statement to give out;

"On the morning of the first pre-season test for the 2020 GPVWC Superleague season, debutant team Cosmo Seiki Japan announced their intention to withdraw from the GPVWC Superleague. Almost immediately, a rescue effort was initiated, with the management of the YTF1 Sim-racing Team at its helm. Within hours, this effort was given the blessings of Cosmo's former management, able to secure a driver lineup and participate in pre-season testing.

Were pleased to announce that this rescue effort was approved by GPVWC management, allowing the team to race in the 2020 GPVWC Superleague season, and adjustments to the GPVWC website have been completed to finalise the complete change in management. The back-end work on the GPVWC website has also had the effect of changing the team's base from Japan to YTF1's location in England.

Out of respect for the name of Cosmo and its former management, we intend to retain the name of Cosmo in our entry. Subject to approval, we would like to have the team known as Cosmo Team YTF1 on the entry list this name is taken directly from a previous collaboration between Cosmo Autosport (as it was known at the time) and YTF1, when the two teams joined forces to run Cosmo's entry into the 2014 GPVWC Le Mans 24 Hour race (part of that years GPVWC Masters Series).

I can't thank enough those people who have been instrumental in allowing this team to compete in the 2020 GPVWC Superleague season and those who have lent a helping hand along the way. It's wonderful to see the GPVWC community coming together in support of our efforts.

As Cosmo Seiki Japan's Facebook page was deactivated before these changes occured, social media updates of the team's efforts will be posted here, on YTF1's social media, instead.

''We look forward to launching our 2020 car
the Cosmo 220C, powered by Reventon in due course."
